Información sobre este vino:
Arfena is a red wine from the Picchioni winery, a vinicultural gem that embodies the essence of the Oltrepò Pavese Denominazione di Origine in the Lombardy region of Italy. This Pinot Noir is grown in the sunny and steep Valle Solinga, where sandy and stony soils lend the wine a unique complexity. The grapes are hand-harvested in 18 kg crates, ensuring the selection of the best clusters. After careful selection, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with maceration lasting approximately 15 days. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, both new and used, and is bottled after a minimum of 8 months of rest in the bottle. This meticulous process results in a medium-bodied wine, with fine tannins and a harmony that unfolds in a long, clean finish. On the nose, Arfena offers a symphony of aromas evoking wild red fruit, spices, cocoa, dried flowers, and subtle balsamic notes. It is the ideal companion for game dishes, lamb, kid, risotto with porcini mushrooms, and medium-aging goat cheeses. It is recommended to serve it at 16-18 °C in a wide glass to fully appreciate its complexity. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, Arfena is a sublime expression of the Oltrepò Pavese terroir— a masterpiece that reflects the dedication and passion of the Picchioni winery.
