Información sobre este vino:
Etna Bianco «Monteleone» is a dry white wine that embodies the essence of the Etna slopes, one of Sicily’s most prestigious wine regions in Italy. This wine is produced by the Monteleone winery, located in Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania. The grapes come from the east side of Etna, grown in the municipalities of Milo and Sant’Alfio at an altitude ranging from 700 to 900 meters above sea level. The grape variety used is the Carricante, an indigenous grape variety that gives the wine exceptional freshness and minerality.
Vinification begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes in the early hours of the morning, ensuring their freshness and quality. After destemming, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must is left to settle for 48 hours. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, thereby preserving the fruit’s primary aromas. The wine matures on its fine lees for six months, with weekly batonnage, which lends it complexity and a rich, silky texture on the palate.
In the glass, Etna Bianco «Monteleone» shows a straw-yellow color with greenish highlights, evoking the brightness of Sicilian landscapes. On the nose, it unfolds a symphony of floral aromas, with elderflower and broom standing out, intertwining with subtle citrus notes, evoking the fresh breeze that descends from the mountains. On the palate, the wine is balanced, fresh, and flavorful, with vibrant acidity that delivers a sense of minerality and a long finish that invites you to keep savoring it.
This wine is ideal for pairing with fried fish dishes and roasted swordfish fillets, enhancing the dining experience with its distinctive character and natural elegance. It is recommended to serve it between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius to fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities. With an alcohol content of 12.5% vol., Etna Bianco «Monteleone» offers an excellent quality-to-price ratio, making it a great choice to enjoy at meals with friends and family.
