Información sobre este vino:
Etna Rosso Calderara Sottana is a red wine from the winery Tenuta delle Terre Nere, one of the most prestigious labels from this Sicilian winery. This wine is made from historic vineyards located in the Contrada Calderara Sottana, on the north slopes of Mount Etna, at an altitude of 600 to 700 meters above sea level. The vines, aged between 50 and 100 years, grow in extremely stony volcanic soils, made mainly of black pumice stone and basalt, which gives the wine exceptional complexity and minerality.
Winemaking is characterized by spontaneous malolactic fermentation and aging for 16 to 18 months in barrels, tonneaux, and large French oak casks, with 20% new wood. This process gives the wine a robust structure and subtle elegance, reflecting the essence of the Etna terroir.
In the glass, Etna Rosso Calderara Sottana shows a delicate ruby-red color with mahogany highlights. On the nose, it offers a penetrating bouquet, rich in aromas of ripe fruit and spices, with mineral notes that evoke the volcanic earth of its origin. On the palate, it is well structured, with present but soft tannins, and a complexity that invites reflection. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a sense of fullness and satisfaction.
This wine is ideal to pair with red meats, aged cheeses, and game dishes. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C to fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities. With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol., Etna Rosso Calderara Sottana offers a unique sensory experience that reflects the richness and diversity of the Etna terroir.
